What God Can Do

I just wanted to give you a glimpse of what happens when God moves. This week He did something very special. He put a team of people together from 3 cities, 2 states, and 5 churches!
I could never have done that- I never would have done that! But it was just the right mix (or maybe just His obedient servants) that He chose to accomplish those tasks He had planned for this time. And just look at what He did...

The team prayed, sang & worshipped together with Haitian believers, both in church & on the mountain. Pastor Glenn preached for both services. On Sunday morning people came forward asking for prayer of salvation!

An amazing medical clinic was held for several days. Everyone pitched in, even non-medical people were taking temps, handing out meds, holding someones hand, bringing a drink of water, whatever was needed. We also visited another medical ministry and were able to share some supplies with them!

Teacher training classes were held every day at the school and our ladies lent a helping hand to the teachers. Karin brought donated teaching aids and showed teachers how to use them in their classrooms. New bulletin boards were made with team pictures of smiling faces.

Some tasks were more mudane, but there was no complaining. Larry & the guys made coffee & breakfast each morning and Pat had a lot of fun when Christelle insisted she was going to wash all the dishes herself! When your family is this big there's a lot of cooking & cleaning to go around & everybody pitched in.

Follow-up to medical or ministry sometimes allowed us to pay a visit in a home. These ladies enjoyed an afternoon visit with Marlene & little Hanna Grace.

Miss Eleanor was very excited when she heard that one of the most important jobs we had was rocking babies! These little ones need a lot of love... but they have even more to give!

The men on our team were a really busy bunch. They repaired stoves, installed gutters, worked on the front end of the p.u.truck, hung doors, made windows & benches, worked on the generator & water main, installed fan, moved water piping, worked on computer projects & paperwork, copied birth cert. for school & made files, made I.D.'s for security & taught Herman how to weld. Are you tired yet?

Not to be outdone, our ladies were equally hard-working. They unpacked, sorted and put away the contents of the 30- 50lb duffle bags full of supplies- clothes, shoes, food, diapers, school supplies, medicine, etc- everything children need! They also helped entertain another group who visited our orphanage, put on puppet shows, hosted a birthday party, worked at the school, organized uniforms & clothes, fitted children with new clothes, handed out sponsor gifts, rocked babies, helped with sponsor letters, went to the market & visited another clinic, & took 20 children to the beach!

These guys can't get the benches built fast enough! See Mike & Janna already treating patients on the just finished bench behind them!

Pat is reading to some of the lttle ones- but Alexandra would rather do it herself! (Don't tell her Snow White is upside down!)

These new windows will give much more light and air flow when installed in the school. And now Herman has a new trade! This is God's work here... not Americans coming and just doing for Haitans or giving a little of our plenty- it woud all be used up in just a few days! But rather His work is showing love... taking time to build a relationship... working side by side & shoulder to shoulder with another believer or even better yet, one who doesn't yet know about the Saviour who came & died for them... spending enough time with them & earning enough respect so that your words mean something to them. Thank you Jesus or the miracles of the week!
