Perfect

Rusty thinks our mountain "petit tent" is the perfect church setting!

The "windows" aren't stained glass, but rather the beautiful artwork of God's palette of Haiti- the greens of the pasture, amber & browns of the desert-like plain, smokey purple & grey mountains, pearl & blue sky, sparkling turquoise of the sea.
The people come because they want to be there, and for no other reason. There would be no other reason, because it's certainly not easy for them. There are no cars or buses to bring them- there isn't even a road- just a rocky, thorn covered, cow path to follow. They don't have new clothes or something fancy to wear & "show-off". They have no electricity, running water, or indoor plumbing in their homes to make getting ready easier. The "air conditioning" is a gentle breeze off the water blowing up the mountain.

There are no pews with comfy cushions to sit on. The honored guests are given the few handmade wooden benches, while most sit on a rock on the ground. Services are not on Sunday, they're whenever there's someone available to preach- usually Friday afternoon. They'll come at a moment's notice- if there's going to be a preacher or guest speaker, or if there is an opportunity to gather and worship and sing praises- they'll drop everything & re-arrange their affairs to attend.There is no piano or orchestra, no microphones or soundboards. Just voices singing and hands clapping as pure praise pours from their heart straight to the Lord.

To Rusty this is the perfect place to preach, pray, and praise. No modern distractions- Just worship- pure & simple.

Shout with joy to God, all the earth!
Sing the glory of His name;
make his praise glorious!
Say to God,"How awesome are your deeds!
So great is your power
that your enemies cringe before you.
All the earth bows down to you;
they sing praise to you,
they sing praise to your name." Psalm 66:1-4
