Continuation of the Memoires of the joint Mission team

Hello All,

It's Wednesday and we've settled in for a long week of work. Yesterday we had a blast going to Pastor Nathan's house and praising the Lord. Pastor Nathan is the newest edition of the Haitian church over here at the compound and let me tell you that his passion is contagious and he gives off a completely different feel than the last pastor. We got to sing and Micah gave a message...in the dark. It would have been great but a huge truck broke down in front of the yard...how convenient.

The way we got there gave us a few laughs. While the majority of the group rode in vans a few of us decided to rough it and ride in the back of a truck...along with 25 other Haitians...goody. It was a pretty good experience because the WHOLE way there they were singing praise songs. A good thing we witnessed wasn't the beautiful flora or flauna to the right or left of our truck but was instead above us...the stars were out and may I say, they were out in full bloom. That was something you can't see in Jacksonville amidst the Alltel Stadium, no, the beauty of God was shown to us that night on a dirt road surrounded by the children of God as they sang His praise.

Today though, was quite the experience. We started the day off with a yummy breakfast and a few words from Larry. After that we began painting the kitchen, cleaning the kids room and our fix-it man, Eric welded, pumped, fixed, and pretty much...well...fixed it... It's lunch time now and as I type this blog we are eating PB&J sandwiches along with canned meat and some good applesauce. I guess you can already guess what we're gonna do when we get done eating though and until I get back I bid you farewell...

-David
