VBS and the Christmas Story

Saturday December 15, 2007
Today was VBS at the church in Bercy. We got started around nine and went to about noon. It was a fun-filled day of prasing the Lord through song, both American and Kreole, and sharing the true meaning of the Christmas spirit. The girls began with some American praise songs, then Pastor Nathan with his accordian blessed us with Hatian music. The story of the Nativity was retold after reading out of the Gospel of Luke, with emphasis on the angel providing the good news that the newborn Jesus was God's gift to all mankind. Everyone did such a wonderful job with passing out snacks and making sure the kids finished their crafts. The pictures below show some singing plus the two crafts that were made. The first craft was a sticker set of the Nativity scene, and the second was a paper-plate turned angel complete with tinsel and glitter.
