Christmastime in Haiti

Saturday and Sunday mornings both started with temperatures in the mid 60's (a real cold snap}. On Saturday night the team helped put up the Christmas tree and decorations around the orphanage. It was quite a joy watching the awe and wonder in the eyes of the children as they each placed an ornament on the tree.

Sunday morning was time to present the nativity play the children had been working on all week. They dressed up in their costumes and did a great job performing in front of the whole church. Pastor Nathan followed it with a wonderful sermon encouraging the congregation to give all glory to God in the highest as the angels did on that Bethlehem night.

What would Christmastime in Haiti be without a trip to the beach? The temperature had warmed enough for 24 of the kids to enjoy swimming, shell collecting, and sharing a snack.
