Mountain-top Experience

As every day this week, the San Jose Baptist Church team started the day with prayer and raising the flag over at the Cabaret school in the village. Everyone on the team had various projects to work on today at the orphanage and school.

Some of the ladies continued working on sorting shoes and outfitting all the kids who live at the orphanage with gently-used clothes that had been donated from San Jose Baptist Church and others who have graciously donated clothing from the states. The ladies had fun dressing up the babies and the little toddlers and they looked so cute in their "new" clothes!

Some of the men on the team built a door over at the school and picked up trash and cut weeds by hand on the orphanage property in addition to draining the outdoor baptismal pool over at the church in preparation for Sunday's baptismal service. Several of the local Haitian men built walls around three classrooms for the younger kids at the Cabaret School. The cement blocks for the walls were donated by San Jose Baptist Church and the kids are already using the classroom space!

Of course one of the most important things that we can do while we're here in Bercy is love on and play with the 38 children who live here at the orphanage, showing them God's love and how much we love them!!!

Later in the afternoon, the team traveled up the mountain to Terre Noir to worship with our brothers and sisters in Christ who live on the moutain. What a glorious site to worship in an outdoor church on the side of a mountain....a true mountain-top experience!!
