The San Jose Baptist Church team started the day at the Cabaret school with the raising of the Haitian flag and singing the Haitian national anthem. We also prayed for the school children with the school staff. We then led the older school kids over to the Bercy Baptist Church and held a shortened VBS with them . We kicked off our VBS time with chanting "Fun, fun, fun in the name of Jesus" and sang several worship songs, followed by story time and craft time. Afterwards, we also did the same thing with the younger school kids. A total of 175 school kids got to sing and hear about Jesus Christ and how much he loves them.
Our team was also involved in various projects at the orphanage such as sorting shoes that had been donated by shoe size, repairing columns at the school as well as painting walls and tiling and grouting the floor of what used to be Rusty and Cheryl's office but will be converted to a brand new play room for the younger kids.
Later in the afternoon, the San Jose team traveled to Wahoo Beach for a little rest and relaxation, swimming, snorkeling and having a taste of Haitian cuisine!
