December Team!

Tonight was family night. It's always my favorite time because we get to really interact with the kids and observe how they interact with each other.

We had our own Marie Joe Remy tell the Christmas story using the flannelgraph for the first time. She was very excited to do it, and did a wonderful job!

We made a paper chain with red and green construction paper to wrap around the tree, along with a few ornaments cut out of felt. It was a mess, but also a lot of fun.

And of course there was singing!

One of the greatest joys of being here this time is that we get to see Emily. She was the very sick baby who came to us back in January and we had to send to Dorothy in Port au Prince for special care. She and Tasha did a wonderful job (of course) and sent her back to us 200% better! She went from 6 pounds to about 20 in less than a year. It's great getting to see her now compared to when we first met her!

There is another child, however, who is not doing so well. Fritzson was brought to the orphanage last week by his father. We are still not sure of the whole story, but he is severely malnurished. He is almost two years old and looks almost like an infant; his legs are so thin he cannot even stand on his own. Fritzson needs a lot of prayer. We have been giving him a lot of food, drink, and love, but there is only so much we can do. It is in God's hands to save this child!

As you can see, we have been busy this week. We are working overtime to get this place ready for Christmas! Everyone is doing great. I was trying to post pictures, but you know how things work in Haiti! Please continue to keep us in your prayers as we go through the rest of the week. Thank you all for your support!

-Darla, and the rest of the team.
