We spent the last couple of days at the Florida Baptist Convention in Lakeland, Florida. "Beautiful Eyes" is an amazing gallery of portraits of individuals who live in our village of Bercy, Haiti. Susan Michal, an award winning portrait artist, visited the mission in 2006 and was enamoured with the haunting beauty of Haiti and her people. Susan created the portrait gallery to share their story of struggle and survival. We were so blessed to be able to share in the unveiling of these gorgeous portraits and share real stories about these very real people, as well as sharing a firsthand account of the ministry among the people of the village of Bercy. Upon returning from the convention, I ran around like a crazy person today...(OK- no smart comments necessary!)... running errands and trying to get ready for our return to Haiti. When I finally got home this afternoon, I was horrified to hear the news that disaster had struck in Haiti again as a 2nd school collapsed today. See the news report below...
