We try and do something fun or relaxing on Sunday afternoons. That's easier said than done here and we usually have to escape to accomplish the objective! This week there was la plie (rain shower) so we were afraid to load up and head north to the beach. We opted for visiting some friends about 30 minutes away instead.
Just as we were heading out some people from our church and village brought in a little boy with knife or machete cut on his ear. It needed a few stitches to pull it together. It happens that our friends have a daughter who is very talented in suturing.
Britt is only 16 and would not yet have even discovered she had this gift if she weren't an MK, but she is blessing many with her skill. It can get pretty gross. It wasn't the fun, relaxing afternoon we planned. She doesn't have to do it. She wants to. She loves it. She loves learning new things & serving. I am impressed with both her compassion and her maturity.
Needless to say Leondo wasn't impressed at all:(
He is one tough little guy. He cried so much, he cried himself to sleep at one point. He comes to see me every day now for amoxicillin and a dressing change... and of course a lollipop ;)
I have to work hard to change his opinion of white women everywhere! He's my bud now.
Leondo today- Looking good
Mesi, Britt
