The airport wasn't to bad... I was really worried. I'd heard all the stories about chaos & dealing with customs. I held onto my green card (Rusty warned me I couldn't get bck out of Haiti without it) and went with the group in search of all those bags we packed. Our church even pitched in extra cash at the last minute so we could bring extra baggage and much needed supplies! All 22 bags made it! What an answer to prayer ...and speaking of answers to prayer, I sure was glad to see Rusty & his guys show up at the airport to pick us up as promised. A Familiar face sure seemed good.
And now for the ride out to the mission... I wonder why there's so much traffic? I thought we were going to a third world country, but it feels like rush hour, or worse. Cars are driving all over the road, there must not be any traffic laws here. When they come to an intersection, vehicles just play "chicken" and the biggest or most daring one has the right of way. I think the most important feature mst be the horn ;-) They never stop beeping & honking.
Oh, my goodness! I thought there wasn't going to be any electricity. But if there's no electricity, then what in the world are all those wires for? Or maybe there's no electricity because there are too many wires and none work?
And please tell me that isn't the mall!!
