Washday Blues

Actually, everyday is washday around here! That's the #1 reason we have a generator, to run our washing machine. We have a sweet, wonderful, hard-working wash lady. She always comes to work early and soon after you hear that great sound of the the Delco cranking up. Not today. I knew she was here she had kissed my cheek like she always does so I asked Rusty what was up? It seems the power blip had messed up the machine and he didn't have time to fix it before we went to market so poor Adamise began the old-fashioned way. When we returned he starteded taking things apart while I got the old washer going- it was much to temperamental to try and explain to somebody else. I babysat that machine all day. Every time it would need to spin for any reason it would walk across the floor- even if it was perfectly balanced! I couldn't just let the laundry go undone- there will be none tomorrow and it already was behind because of the generator problems so I put the girls to work this afternoon and we washed and hung out and folded all day. When I had my flashlight out hanging out the last load tonight Nadege was really worried I had cracked for sure ;-) She said "Mama Cherie FINI!!" The bad news is that the circuit board or some very important part of our good, big washing machine is fried and will have to come from the US :-( Oh, well Monday, Rusty is going to work on crippling that walking washing machine!
