Mike- makes it happen!

In August we had a guy come down on team who was a computer genius. Only problem was that when he got here we didn't have internet (most of the country was down) and had to wait til the company could get out here in the boonies from the big city of Port-au -Prince to install a new modem for us. It drove Mike crazy. He came to do computer stuff and couldn't do very much of it until those guys came out with the modem, so his plan was to make them even crazier than it was making him. It worked! It took the better part of the week, but we had internet before most of the country. We learned that Mike is "task-oriented" ;-) I had calls from other missionaries I had never met before asking how we got internet a month later!! OHHH God is so very good. So today, when Rusty had the problem with the generator we found that some things burned up when we had the power surge- or something- you'd have to ask Rusty exactly what happened. Anyway, we ran around checking important electrical things as $$$$ flashed in front of our eyes... freezer,OK- fridg,OK- washer,OK- MODEM -UH-OH. We smelled that awful smell and no lights would come on- then we figured out it was only the power strip that had burned up. Our wonderful, expensive, onlyoutsidecommunicator modem was spared! Since it was working, Rusty called Mike, and thanked him again. And then asked him if he could possibly get a really good surge protector and send down here with the next group. Then Rusty started doing some double talk about maybe the money could come from this fund or that one, but Mike said, " We'll make it happen" and I believe him.
