Roseline

Roseline is a sweet little 6 year old that we met and treated during the medical clinic. She has kwashiokor, a severe form of malnutrition resulting from a diet with inadequate protein. She probably has had nothing to eat eat except small quantities of rice in a very long time. Her mom is attentive and loving and is doing the best that she can. Roseline's puffy cheeks are characteristic of kwash and make her appear larger than her tiny 28 pounds.

Roseline also has 2 abcesses on her left foot. The infection was not responding to the antibiotics she was given, so we called our friend Dorothy and asked if she would care for Roseline for a bit until she is on the road to better health. Kez, a nurse who lives with Dorothy posted about Roseline here.

There was a birthday party at Dorothy's the very 1st afternoon she was there. It is so wonderful to know that she is being well cared for and loved. She is such a precious, sweet little girl. Thanks Dorothy, Kez and Casey!
The photo below shows her in her little princess costume for the party, looking beautiful, but a bit overwhelmed.
Thank you, Jesus!
