Today is the Day!!!

Sarah took these Photos last week in the aftermath from Hurricane Ike. This is the Cabaret flood, near where we live.

Emory & Mary Wilson are fellow missionaries here in Haiti, but come from Brunswick, GA. They have been serving in Gonaives and doing some work with an orphanage there. Gonaives is Haiti's New Orleans in that it often suffers through severe flooding. In 2004, Hurricane Jeanne caused flooding that the area is still recovering from. This year was worse. Hanna caused flooding up to the rooftops and beyond. Many were killed. Many more lost their homes and belongings. Flooding continued as Ike moved through a few days later.

The orphanage where Emory & Mary serve was flooded and now uninhabitable. They have not had adequate food or drinking water for a couple of weeks. They must relocate the orphanage. We will house them temporarily until they can secure a new home for the children. Rusty left a couple of hours ago to meet them at Montrois. He will return late this afternoon with Emory & Mary and 49 new children. We are excited, scared, busy, overwhelmed, blessed... yes, that's it... mostly we just feel blessed (and a little overwhelmed!).

Last night we had an amazing family night with the children. We told them the story of the Good Samaritan and talked with them about sharing and helping those in need. We prayed for the children of Gonaives, sang praise songs, and then prayed some more! It was beautiful. It makes it all worthwhile.

We are planning to have another family night tonight with our new blended group. I just finished baking 96 cupcakes for our family !! I can't wait to see how God provides & blesses. Already Donald from Children's International Lifeline came by this morning and dropped off cases of "Kids against Hunger" rice packs. Thank you, Thank you! God is so good!

Thank you for these pictures. Although they're sad to look at, I'm glad you took time to take them and share with those of us. Thanks

By the way, if you don't mind, I would like to post them on my facebook page?
