Children helping Children

A week or so ago I received an e-mail from Christie outlining the plans her young children, Hope & Jackson had to bless the children in Haiti. Although they have been saving their money for a piano- (also a big task and great lesson for two little people!) they decided to use the money they raised to buy food for Haitian children instead!

This is part of the announcement I received from Christie...

Please Help Us Feed The Children!
What: Yard Sale to Benefit Children of Haiti
When: This Saturday - May 17, 2008
Thank you for your help!
Hope & Jackson

PS - Mom Christie is helping with they typing and marketing, but this idea is totally Hope's and Jackson's! We've been saving money for a piano and had planned the yard sale to help with that, but when the kids heard how the situation in Haiti has gone from bad to worse, they decided that the Haitian Kids needed the money for food more than we need a piano! May God richly bless their efforts to help those that are so much less fortunate!

Hope & Jackson wanted to help the children of Haiti .... and they have!

Yesterday I received this amazing report from Hope & Jackson's garage sale and I heard that they personally delivered the $$ to JBA.

This is Christie's report.... drum roll, please!!!!

Thanks to all of you who donated items for our Yard Sale for Haiti's Children! The kids raised $644.90. Yes, you read that right - $644.90!!!

That's more than enough to sponsor a child for a whole year - food, clothing, education!

Many people who didn't purchase anything, made donations and lots of people paid more than the asking price, just to help.
I'm proud of Hope & Jack and their willingness to help others and I am thankful for all of your help, too!

Blessings,
Christie

Thank you Hope & Jackson ( Nathan & Christie, too), for helping the children of Haiti. You did a great job and we are all very appreciative and proud of you, too.

my 7 year old had the same idea! she has chosen to use her 70 some dollars in her piggy bank to buy something fun for the orphanage kids. and we are having a yard sale as well (which many have already donated "goods" for us to sell) in a couple of weeks. It is SO awesome to see children with the heart of Jesus! Thanks for sharing ... can't wait to see you guys!
